Lead the certification team for ANSI/CSA for several product lines before moving to the Configuration Team to automate and improve our internal processes.

• Revamped and updated stability and machine integrity calculations for product lines

3D CAD w/ Animation Software


LSA Maintenance Video
This is 1 chapter of many for the maintenance and assembly I created for GIW. The full video is roughly 25 minutes. I shot all the video, rendered all the graphics and animations in 3D Studio, sourced/cut/cleaned the audio and put it all together using Premiere over the course of a couple months.

LSA Maintenance Video - Spanish
Sales, of course, wanted it in Spanish too. This was quite the task as it meant padding out vertain scenes and animations in addition to re-recording new audio tracks (btw I don't know Spanish so aligning correctly to video was... fun)

Carbide Tip Impeller (NPD)
Sometimes a video says a thousand words. In this case our Assembly teams were not in complete understanding on how this 300 lbs part would slide into it's mating base given the complex geometry in the area. This cleared it up very fast for them.

Before switching to 3D Studio Max this was the prelimiary render with Maya.

Reverse Engienering + Wear Analysis on casing. Color disparity signifies the difference between original design and what I scanned using FAROArm Reverse Engineering tooling.

Cut assembly for use by Sales.

Outsourced 3D print of the final product (1/15 scale). A large amount of fake parts mating used to actually be able to create this.

Database & Engineering Tools


GIW Engineering Resources sub-site that was created and maintained by myself. It's main purpose was to be the homepage for those needing assisstance from the department as well as serve as the dashboard for the SAP material creation process.

GIW SAP Material Creation Workflow: This workflow prevented GIW from having to create a new team specific to creating parts in SAP and was actually created in Sharepoint using InfoPath Form Services. Instead, representatives from each department would recieve an email taking them to this screen where each individual would enter information within SAP and hit the easy CONFIRM which would send this the next representative. The workflow would go from ENGR ll the way to CO (costing) and there would be a working record who did what when.

Genie Industries Oracle Parts Database concept: This was programming in Node.js and MySQL and would tell the user the full details of a given part. The use could also see where it was used and all the children within the BOM and could click on any item to navigate towards that item as well. If a drawing was found for that part it would also provide a link to the left rather than having the user try to find it on a network drive.

Genie QR Code Database concept: Also created in Node.js and MySQL this site would give full details of a machine when scanning an accompanying QR code along with all of its machine specific documentation and diagrams.

Hands-On Experience


This is a clear pump to show the internal dynamics of our products as it operates. I did source, build and operate the device for technical documentation and training purposes internally and for customers.

PVC is great for every R&D project. In this case I replaced the straight piping with a number of connections to make assembly, disassembly and operation of the demonstration loop much quicker.

Another demonstration loop (much smaller this time). This was a roaming demo that I built and sourced. Multiple versions were created after the success of the original for use at trade shows and customer training sites. Everything on the table would actually go into the cabinet it rests on for easy travel. In this pic is a younger me with the current Chief Engineer at GIW.

This demo greatly helped GIW enter a new business segment. In this case we wanted to enter the cyclone separator market but had little knowledge of how to add this to our demo loop. I took a clear air vacuum part and retrofitted it with other PVC and acrylic parts in order to hook it up to water piping.
